How much could you save through the Victorian Energy Upgrades Program?

November 3, 2025

Another hot Victorian summer is on the way. If your old cooling system is struggling to keep up, now is a good time to upgrade to an energy-efficient reverse-cycle air conditioner by taking advantage of the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) Program, to help cover the cost.

Here are some scenarios to give you an indication of what you could save 👇

Scenario 1:
Sally uses a hard-wired electric room heater in winter and relies solely on ceiling fans in summer. She upgrades to a 7 kW split system for year-round comfort.
💰 She gets $840 back through the VEU Program AND saves on her utilities bills.

Scenario 2:
Joe’s home currently has an older ducted gas system. He replaces it with four efficient split systems (1 × 8 kW + 3 × 3 kW).
💰 Her rebate is $2,520 — and is happy when her electricity bill drops too!

Scenario 3:
Alex upgrades her ducted gas system to a multi-split 10 kW unit that cools the whole home evenly.
💰 She saves $2,940 with an approved energy-efficient install and looks forward to lower electricity bills as a result.
