The quiet streets of Coleraine were transformed into a high-energy raceway earlier this month for the 13th annual Australian Pedal Car Grand Prix, held on 4 October. This vibrant, action-packed brings together locals and visitors for a day of fun, teamwork and pedal power.
Finchetts was proud to support our own Sam Ness – and his mates, Angus Austin and Zac – to participate in the elite category by covering the cost of their pedal car hire for the second year running.
The “Speedie Tradies” hit the track with high hopes, however, while their skills on the tools are top-notch, their luck on the track wasn’t quite as strong this year, with the cart rolling twice during the event.
True to their name though, the Speedie Tradies took it all in stride, laughed it off, and kept the pedals turning.
Held at the Coleraine Train Station Tourist Centre beside the scenic Lagoon, the Australian Pedal Car Grand Prix transforms the usually quiet streets into a bustling raceway. Teams of four or more build or hire pedal-powered race cars to compete across Junior, Open and Elite categories — celebrating fitness, fun and community spirit in a healthy, eco-friendly way.
Finchetts is proud to back Sam and his mates, cheering them on as they flew (and occasionally flipped) around the course.
Well done to the Speedie Tradies for giving it a red-hot go once again — we’ll call it a win for effort, mateship and a few good laughs.
And thumbs up to Coleraine for hosting a great local initiative that bring communities together.
